Safeguarding

Keeping your child safe is the first job, before anything else

No jargon and no vague reassurance — here is exactly what we do, and what you can hold us to.

Our Ofsted position

Arinola Childcare Ltd was incorporated on 22 August 2025. We will publish our Ofsted URN, judgement and a direct link to the report on this page the moment we have them — and not a day before. If you would like to know where we are in that process, ask Arinola and she will tell you plainly.

Our safeguarding policy, in short

Every adult here has a duty to act if they are worried about a child. Concerns are written down the same day, taken to the designated safeguarding lead — that is Arinola — and referred on to the Royal Borough of Greenwich's children's services where the threshold is met. We do not wait to be certain before we act, and we never discuss a concern with anyone who does not need to know.

DBS and recruitment checks

Nobody works or volunteers here, or is left alone with a child, without an enhanced DBS check with children's barred list, references taken up directly, identity and qualification checks, and a full employment history with any gaps explained. Checks are renewed and re-declared annually.

First aid and illness

A current paediatric first-aid certificate is held on site at all times, and the certificate is available for you to see. We keep a written record of every accident, however small, and tell you the same day. Children who are unwell need to stay home; we will always ring you rather than leave you wondering.

Safe arrival and collection

You name the adults allowed to collect your child, and we agree a password. Anyone we do not recognise is not handed a child until we have spoken to you directly — no exceptions, even when it is inconvenient. Registers are taken at arrival, before and after outings, and at collection.

Allergies, dietary needs and medication

Allergies and dietary needs are recorded before your child's first session and displayed where food is prepared. We only give medication with your written consent, prescribed and in its original labelled packaging, and every dose is recorded and signed by you at collection.

Outings, photographs and phones

Outings have a written risk assessment and your consent. Personal mobile phones and cameras are not used in the areas children occupy; any photograph of your child is taken on a setting device, stored securely, and never shared publicly without your specific written permission.

If you are worried about anything

Speak to Arinola first — that is always the quickest route. If you are not satisfied, you can raise it with Ofsted directly on 0300 123 1231, and with the Royal Borough of Greenwich's Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub. In an emergency, call 999.
